FOUR/SIX-C is an independent animated film set in a Sci-fi desolated dystopia, that tells the story of Sal, who lives in isolation and is obsessed with resurrecting the person he loves. He is now down to his very last try to bring her back and is overwhelmed with fear of losing her forever.
The movie embraces complex emotions and experiences, we come to experience and understand as adults; exploring themes of isolation, love, trauma, sacrifice and an undeniable urge to be a perfectionist.
The movie follows a narrative structure that helps the audience create their own version of Sal’s story. It’s designed with the thought of provoking questions, and then throughout the movie, the audience finds their own answers. Each interpretation is right in it’s own way. It is a love letter and appreciation for all the animation and art that has inspired us till now. We aim to broaden the scope of animation for adults, inspired by mature themes that are rarely explored in our country.
The world of FOUR/SIX-C is a desolated dystopia. Completely void of any life. The idea of the city was to represent an eerie emptiness; a jungle of tall glass buildings and neon holograms. The outer world is a complete contrast to Sal’s home, which is dimly lit and cluttered. Both interiors and exteriors are contrasting to one another but compliment Sal’s personality and state of mind in one way or another.
We created a story, wrote a script, did our storyboards and now, are almost done with animation and background art! Like a cherry on top, we have a proof of concept trailer. The job of an army of animators, done by two :p For the past two years, we’ve been doing this on our own and it has been a lot of fun but making a fourteen-minute animated movie has proven to be a very taxing job for us both physically and financially..
Now, we’ve decided to start this campaign to share our vision with you and invite you on our remaining journey. With your support, we’ll be able to make our ambitious dream a reality, and share it with the world. We’ll be able to bring more people on-board and dedicate more resources to the post-production phase of the movie; as well as hire and fairly compensate talented voice-over artists and a sound designer. A portion of the funds raised will also be used to send the movie to film festivals around the world; and help us produce and deliver the support bundles to you.
Animation is still in its infancy in India but it’s steadily progressing. With this movie, we wish to dwell on lesser-explored themes and push the bounds of animated movie-making in our country.
This campaign will let us stay true to our characters and share the story of FOUR/SIX-C without compromising our vision for outside investors or censorship.

FOUR/SIX-C is a debut film by Mazhar Kothari and Toash Bhat. We are two animators from India who have an undying love for animation and storytelling. We wish to tell stories that dwell deeper into mature themes and emotions we come to understand as adults.
After finishing Mazhar’s graduation project together, we took upon the herculean task of expanding it into an animated movie with just the two of us!! and now, we invite you to be a part of this journey as we push it over the finish line.
We have exciting merchandise for everyone, as our token of appreciation for helping us with finishing our movie. We’ll work hard to ensure that these funds go towards making the best film possible, but we also want to ensure that we provide the most value for your contribution!

CHALLENGES AND RISKS
We chose to create this campaign to provide you with an uncompromising experience, and help us reach out to film festivals around the world. We first ran this campaign on Kickstarter , but faced A LOT of payment related issues. So we moved here and started fresh, with an Indian payment portal!
For legal reasons, this is NOT A CROWDFUNDING. We are simply providing you with merchandise in return for your financial support, effectively making is an e-commerce website 🙂
All of the money we raise goes towards the film. We will not pocket any money. In spirit of full disclosure, we will make our accounts (income and expenditures) live to the public before our online release!
Animation is a complex process with a lot of moving parts. One second consists of 24 frames and every single frame has to be meticulously drawn and painted. With our current script, we’re looking at a little shy of 14 minutes.
We are currently cleaning up and compositing the film simultaneously, and plan on finishing the movie by Q3 2024. It will be posted online sometime in 2025 after we’ve done our run of movie festivals.
Your merchandise will be shipped out by the end of Q1 2024 as soon as we’re done with the film.
